ABOUT FORMULA STUDENT

Europe’s Leading Student Motorsport Competition

Formula Student is an international engineering design competition run by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).

University teams design, build, and race single-seat cars that are judged across static events (design, cost, business) and dynamic events (acceleration, skid pad, autocross, and endurance).

The competition challenges students to apply real-world engineering, project management, and teamwork skills, producing graduates who are ready to contribute to the automotive and motorsport industries.

Consistent top finishes at FSUK: 2nd Overall in 2021 & 2023, plus 4th Overall in 2022, 2024, and 2025 – with 2nd place in the Engineering Design Finals (2025).
